About Us
Our company was started by Colin Scovil in Orlando, Florida in 1950. Making us one of the first companies providing hardwood flooring and flooring services in Orlando Florida at that time. When Colin retired in 1999, second-generation owner Ric Scovil took over and expanded our product offerings making Ability Wood one of the first companies to sell and install prefinished, engineered hardwood flooring. By the time Ric’s son Shane joined the family business, Ability Wood Flooring had solidified its reputation as a one-stop-shop for quality flooring, providing new services and products including carpet, tile, and stone in addition to our traditional hardwood products.
